With a live work environment, a strict building manager and a client with stringent OHS requirements, the Bechtel end-of-trip facility was a challenging project. We engaged Hammersmith in the early stages to ensure they understood the key stakeholders, contributed to the design and gained an understanding of the environment they had to operate in.
Hammersmith were the right people for the job and ran a very tight ship. On the whole it was a very successful project which met the tight program constraints with no incidents on site. A good end product and a happy client.

Bechtel sought to install a highly specified end-of-trip facility—showers, toilets, lockers and bicycle parking—in an awkward basement space under their existing Brisbane headquarters.
Delivery negotiated numerous base building, building management and property management challenges. Accommodating and installing the services comfortably within the 2.1 metre ceiling height required careful planning and coordination. Hammersmith worked hard to maintain relations with the various stakeholders, while achieving the design objectives for the client and architect.
Aided by our site manager’s considerable prior experience working in the building, Hammersmith successfully delivered the project to a tight timeframe, on budget.
